Devin stopped several feet in front of Thea, and he swiveled his body towards her. "Trust me, there isn't anything bad at me." he explained halfheartedly, offering her a reassuring smile. "And I don't know...I hope you don't Because your a really cool, pretty girl. I'de love to get to know you more. Hopefully you won't." His smile widened, before it slowly faded as he glanced over his shoulder. "I"m sorry if I offended you." He murmured softly, turning to face her again. "I didn't mean anything about it. We shall see how things go. Meanwhile, do you want to get something to eat? I'm starving?" he offered her his arm hopefully.

{ Sure! I was thinking of a new way of handling things lol }
:: Thea ::
Thea was about to open her mouth and forgive him when she heard a crashing sound coming from the forest. Three guys, all on the football team and known for being cocky ass jocks, came from behind the trees full of snickers and drunkenness. Their leader, Matt Henry, was broad shouldered, muscular, and completely wasted. When he looked up from his stumbling and saw Devin and Thea, a smile grew on his face. "Well well well, if it isn't Mr. Killer himself," the two guys, his followers, backed him up with chuckles and stood on either side of him. Thea narrowed her eyes, not liking the smell of alcohol on their breaths and their aggressiveness.
Matt took a few steps towards Thea with an upturned hand. "Hey new girl. What's a pretty face like you hanging out with a killer?" he sneered. Thea furrowed her eye brows, looking at Devin in question. Matt cut her off with a heavy laugh. "Oh, no one told you?" he stepped closer to her, pointing a meaty finger in Devin's direction. "This guy, is a murderer." He slurred. "Killed his ex girl friend and her brother-" he burped in Thea's face, making her take a step back. He got the wrong idea apparently, growling and grabbing her wrist. "Hey don't back away from me," he pawed his own chest. "I'm not the one who killed anybody and then got let go scotch free," he drawled, the liquor working on his tongue and actions. His grip on Thea's wrist grew so rough she yelped, trying to pull away from him.
"Let go of me," she hissed, trying to yank his hold on her away. Her eyes, full of a sudden fear she didn't know she had, flickered between the situation and Devin. Is that why everyone talked about him? Because he convicted of murder? Her heart was pounding her chest. She'd gotten herself into situations like these before; situations that never ended well. Matt didn't release his grip, pulling her towards him roughly. His friends still sniggered.
"I'm just here to protect you babe," he explained, running the back of his hand down the length of her pale face. She screeched a bit at him, jerking as hard she could manage until he released her.
"Don't touch me," she growled, sepping away from both him and Devin. Her eyes were wide with adrenaline, staring back at Devin like a worried cat. "Is that what you meant?" she asked him, but Matt was already close to her again. His breath was hot and smelt awful against her cheek when he pulled her close to him once more. "I said stop!" she yelled in his face, which apaently made him mad. Struggling, but able to still be immensely powerful, he shoved her to the ground where she just barely missed hitting her head on a log. Leaves and twigs and sand scraped her hands and her hair flailed around her.
"Fuck you Barbie," he spat her way, lurking back his foot to kick her in the stomach.

Devin sighed as the three, obviously wasted, menwaltzed up to the two of them. He made no move to desperate Matt from Thea, interested to see how things turned out. As Matt started to fill Thea's head with nonsensical rumors, he flinched away, dark gaze falling to the floor. He didn't even try defending himself at first, but when Thea turned her lighter gaze to his he quickly shook his head. His gaze darkened as his pupils slid over the cocky male that pushed Thea to the ground.
A hand grabbed Matt bythe back of his collar, successfully pulling the male off of the struggling, screaming girl. "Bug off of her, Matt." His fist flung towards his face, looking relieved when he heard the sound of his fist colliding into Matt's face. He had let go of the young man's shirt just as he had punched him, allowing the figure to be shoved away/flinged to the floor. He stood over Thea, shooting daggers at them, daring them to approach. "I don't force myself on people like you do, idiot!"

:: Thea ::
A gasp left Thea's mouth when Devin punched her. Because she was scared and just wanted to get out of the situation, she got up as best she could to her feet and stepped a few feet away. But curiosity was getting the better of her, damn it. She stopped, leaning against a tree with her hair a mess. "Devin-" she started, but Matt had recovered from the hit and was flailing on the ground in a fit of rage. "You're asking for it Killer!" he growled, and his two buddies went after Devin. One swung a punch towards his gut while the other acted like a reenforcement. Thea's breath was heavy and quick, her eyes flashing back and forth until she realized she could stop all of this. If she made a big enough scene, like she had in previous times when in...bad situations, these guys would dash. Right as Matt was getting up to lay it on Devin, Thea opened her mouth.
And she screamed the highest pitch yowl she had in a very long time.
The 'reenforcer' of Matt's buds dropped his hold on Devin and looked up. The other guy stepped away from Devin too and Matt wrenched around. "Shut up you fucking little bitch!" he threatened, but his eyes were darting around. The music at the party a bit down the beach halted and there were sounds of voices coming there way. Instantly all the boys started to scurry off, but not before Matt tried to kick Devin again in the gut.

Devin growled, struggling in the other man's grip as he got punched in the stomach. He grunted, hands automatically reaching for his side. Thea was the last thing on his mind as he tried manuevering away from the line of fire. He lifted his leg, getting ready to kick the rei enforcement in the part of him that made him undeniable male. But he froze at the sound of the loud wail, his head swivelling towards Thea. His bruised sides heaved in a sigh of relief, gaze swivelling to meet Matt's. He stepped away from Matt just in time, and reached over to grab his collar again, trying to forcefully shove his fist in Matt's nose again, a scowl darkening his features. "And your asking for it, too! Your the next one on my list, watch your back." He hissed, wanting to embed fear in Matt's heart, no matter how unscared he really should be. Devin wasn't going to do anything.
When he was content that he had hit him again, in some sort of fashion, he stepped away, clenched fists falling to his side. Matt was probably going to make a 'hero' story out of all of this, he was sure. He tentatively glanced at Thea, and stepped warily away from her. "That's why I don't go to parties." He answered gruffly, angling his body so that he faced the oncoming voices. He was seething with rage, glancing askance at the others. He was absolutely ticked off, the muscles in his body clenching and unclenchingas he desperately tried to calm himself down.

:: Thea :: Matt had been punched, but ran off after his buddies cradling his jaw and cussing up a storm. Thea fumbled a bit with her hair, shoving it out of her face. Her breath was quick and her whole body still ached from being shoved to the ground so hard. Shakily, her hands went to wipe off the dirt on her thighs as the voices got closer. Before they reached them, Thea made eye contact with Devin. "Were you really convicted of murder?" she asked, exasperated. Her hands were clenching so hard to the three positioned right next to her that her knuckles were as pale as her face. "Did you really murder two people?" she doubted he'd answer her honestly, but she was in too much shock to really register that idea. And by the way his body language was giving off steam practically, it frightened her a little. A few guys from the party reached them, using flash lights on their phones, and saw the situation. They tried grabbing Devin to obtain him, thinking he maybe violated Thea. She was too scared to argue. "My dad's on his way," the head sheriff's son, Jackson Chase was one of the boys trying to keep Devin restrained. He also was one to make sure they didn't hold Devin down but surrounded him a little as more and more people from the party flood into the area. "Are you alight?" he turned to Thea with a worried expression all she did was nod, staring wide eyed at Devin, not saying a word in his defense. { We can skip to when he gets out of the police station if you want }

Devin glanced at Thea from over his shoulder. "Would you really believe what I said, anyway?" He huffed, turning away from her again. He hadn't even known the girl for 24 hours and she was already going to be influenced and taken away. He couldn't wait to get out of highschool, try starting a new life. He watched as the other men approached, warily watching them. They seemed 'friendly' enough. They didn't seem like they were trying to cause harm and pain, and they even seemed concerned for Thea. But as they tried to reach for him, he pulled away with a scowl. "Let go. I'm not running." He stayed true to his word, remaining in his position as long as they all stayed a few inches away. He knew what they thought, and as much as he hated to admit it, he didn't expect Thea to defend him.
[If ya want ^^ who starts?]

The clerk behind the class clicked on the microphone. "Can I help you?"
Thea let out a breath, studying the police precinct with wide green eyes. She sighed and nodded to the woman kindly. "I'm here to pay for bail." The woman nodded, fumbling for some papers. "Which person in custody are you here for?"
She cleared her throat. "Devin. Devin Stevinson, please."
Soon after Thea paid for his bail with her Daddy's magical credit card, she waltzed out of the station and leaned against the hood of her beat up 1968 Chevy truck, baby blue paint chipping and seats worn, but still her most prized possession. Her eyes scanned the front of the building, waiting for Devin to be released so she could talk to him.

Devin had sat in his little confined room, resting his head in his hands. By now he wasn't expecting someone to bail him out, and he was mad. Mad for being blamed for violating Thea when he hadn't. He had made several promises in his pity room; never go to a party again, and never trust anyone. He glanced up when someone stepped past the door, and he frowned. He wasn't in the mood for talking.
Minutes passed, and a surprised Devin was being led towards the door, after he signed some papers. The person beckoned him out of the building and towards Thea. The person said a few words to Thea and then they turned to leave. Devin awkwardly stood there, his large body standing stiff and tall. His chocolaty gaze strayed to the floor and he sighed. "Thanks...." He finally muttered, glancing up to vher.

Thea looked up at him, studying him with a small smile. "You know, Devin. I'm pretty hungry. How about we go get that something to eat you promised me last night?" she offered, motioning for him to go to her car. There was always the doubt that he would reject her; I mean, she'd practically let him get arrested without a word of the truth. She didn't deserve any nice treatment from him. In fact, he should be boiling mad with her, and she wouldn't be surprised. But she'd thought about it, and she wanted to get to know Devin. Not the murderer, if he even was one, but the Devin she'd first laid eyes on in gym class on her first day of school. "I mean. I think I owe you," she cleared her throat, though she tried to look mature and business like in her gray dress and converse high tops.

Devin blinked in surprise, his head tilting upwards. "Really? You'd go get something to eat...with me? After everything you heard the others say?" He studied her warily, brown eyes flicking over her facial expressions. "And...I don't know if you really owe me..it doesn't even matter. Though I'm sure it made everything ten times worse. By next week, everyone in the school will know. And you know how rumors are, I'm sure they will change it so that I raped more than you. And most of the other girls will agree that I did." he rolled his eyes, giving a shrug. "But eating sounds good. I'm starving." he smiled at her, the first genuine one she had seen.

Thea gave him a small smile back. "I figure I'd get to know the person before I judged them too quickly," she said simply, moving to get into her truck and drive into town where a little diner, which she'd seen only a few days ago, was. It seemed like the perfect place to talk. "How does a burger and milk shake sound? I'm buying." Getting to the drivers seat, she opened the door and slid in, waiting for Devin to follow.

Devin's smile widened. Maybe this young female would actually stick around for a little while. He could convince her without many words that he was innocent. "Aw, and ruin a guy's pride? Are you sure I can't buy?" His bottom lip jutted out in a pout. He dipped his head to her and quickly slid into the car.

"I got you arrested, Devin," she looked at him pointedly, pulling out of the parking spot by holding onto the seat he sat in and bending backwards. Her fingers brushed his shoulder, but she didn't notice it much. "And to be perfectly honest I'm a bit shocked you aren't spitting mad at me right now," Thea put the car in drive and looked at him hesitantly before driving out of the police station parking lot and towards the center of town.
