Kayden had driven quickly and silently. Not even the radio played as they moved along the streets. Kayden was tired, achy, angry, frustrated - basically every emotion you could feel except for happy. Yeah. That should cover it. He just wanted to go home, sleep, and possibly go to the gym. Anything he could to get his mind off of the past few days. It wasn't that far into the day and he was done - done with it all. Done with the emotions. Done with trying. Done with his parents. And done with Bryn. He wished he wasn't. He wished he could have the willpower to push on and make Bryn stay, but he knew he wouldn't win. Something inside him told him not to even try. Everything would end up in a mess because he would do things without thinking. No matter what his choice was, he wasn't winning. His best bet was to go with whichever was easier.
As they rolled up to Bryn's aunt's house - a familiar place in his mind. He might of had to use the GPS in his car to get there, but once he was right in front of it, it brought up memories. There were only a few, but they were joyful and happy like all those were in the past that involved Bryn. If only it had been that easy now.
Instead of letting Bryn go as soon as they stopped, he locked the car doors with the controls on his side. He hadn't looked at her for the entire ride, but just then his turned his eyes towards her. It was a harsh glare, one without emotion. Cold and desolate - just like his home. Something had been dancing around in the back of his mind and he needed to get to the bottom of it before Bryn might possibly walk away from his life forever. "Give me your hand." He said, his voice not so much demanding as it was suggesting.

Bryn's eyes slowly trailed up to his, looking like a guilty puppy dog. Then she flapped her long sleeved hand and tried to open the door. "I'll just go, okay? No need to keep me," she was playing it off non-chalantly, not wanting him to look anywhere near her wrists. There were scars littering them, up to the elbows, and some that had only began to heal just about a month ago. There were also cuts along the top of her thighs and hips, but she didn't think Kayden would ever see those either. (wrong-o lol)

Kayden's gaze didn't falter. Those eyes stood emotionless and cold, waiting for exactly what he had asked for. "Your hand." He repeated, his tone a little more sour this time. There was no way he was going to get her go without knowing the truth. The doors were locked, so it's not like she could go anywhere.

Bryn's hands started to shake as nervousness crept into her gut. The way Kayden was looking at her and speaking towards her was harsh and firm. Her bottom lip trembled a bit and she crossed her arms over her chest, her gaze flicking around. "I don't want to-" her voice was high pitched. She felt suddenly trapped and started to breathe heavily. She wished she could unlock the doors but only Kayden how the power to do so. Bryn felt like a caged animal trying to get out.

Kayden didn't actually need to see the damage to know that it was done. The way she was acting was proof enough. It was what he feared - that his mother was correct. There were probably scars over her wrists or worse over her body. It terrified him, that she would do something like that or that she could still be doing something like that. But he didn't act upset. He didn't look angry. That emotionless stare still stayed strong. Not a word slipped out of his mouth as he moved his gaze off the female and onto the controls next to him. There was a soft click, and he unlocked the doors. Without a word, he stared out the large front windshield. He just wanted to leave. To run away like his mother always did. His grip around the black steering wheel tightened, making the leather grip screech under his touch.

Bryn studied him closely and frowned a bit. She opened the door of his sleek car and stepped out onto the cold cement of her aunt's drive way. "It was nice seeing you again," she said formally and gathered up her things. Her body stood still as she watched him, her heart seeming to break more than it ever had. Bryn was loosing him all over again. "Bye Kayden," she whispered quietly and slammed the door shut.

Bryn was in her room, studying for a test and eating some licorice. Her speakers blared Maroon 5 and she sang off key along with the sexy vocals of Adam Levine. There was a knock on her door and her aunt pushed it opened without waiting for any answer from her niece. "Bryn? Honey?" she asked.
Bryn smiled and set down her book. "Hey, what's up?"
Her aunt was grinning from ear to ear, only exaggerating her wrinkled features. "There's someone here for you."
Bryn's heart jump up into her throat, making her feel excited. Kayden was here? For her? She jumped up instantly and rushed past her aunt. She nimbly scurried down the stairs and ran straight towards the front door, though stopping right before anyone could see her. Her hand swept over her hair to pat it down and she straightened up her shirt before taking a steady step out into the open with a large smile on her face. Except when she looked up, Kayden did not stand in a doorway, but Jackson Rogers. Bryn was not expecting to see him.
"Bryn," he greeted and stepped forward. His long arms wrapped around her in a stiff hug and her muscles instantly tighten up. She was shocked, to sat the least.
Her shaking hands pushed him back a little. "J-Jackson?" she asked, staring up into his brown eyes worriedly. A grin was plastered on his handsome face.
"I've missed you!" he chuckled and hugged her tightly to him again. Bryn felt horribly uncomfortable.
'What are you doing here?' she exclaimed, shock coating her words though she tried to be civil.
"I just moved back into town and I called up your aunt to come visit," he explained. Bryn's stomach flipped.
{ blah blah blah long story short Bryn gets ready and they go to restaurant after he invites her to go and her aunt insists. }
Bryn fumbled with her napkin, staring around at others in the restaurant. The tight blue dress her aunt made her wear was itchy and uncomfortable and the restaurant seemed way too fancy for her to be inside. But the company, Jackson, was nice. Really nice. His handsome face lit up every time he smiled at her and his laugh was like bells. She'd forgotten how much she'd missed her close friend while she'd grown up. And it felt good to not have someone pitying you while you spoke to them. In fact, Jackson was acting like no time had passed and was sticking the chop sticks up his nose and making Bryn chuckle. But what she was most happy about was the fact that it helped her keep her mind off of Kayden who she hadn't talked to in a week and missed with every ounce of her soul.

A bored looking male sat in one of the booths, his body wrapped tightly in a light blue sweater - of course. Those large hands familiar of Kayden Marton were tapping on the scratched wood of the resturaunt tables. His blue eyes tilted downwards as the female in front of him kept on blabbering about school. How someone did this, or someone was talking about that. It was all mundane blabber that came around school to him long before this female even heard about it. Not that Kayden cared. Though the female in front of him was far from ugly - not with her blonde hair and striking green eyes, A perfectly surgery fixed pointed nose and a smile that could easily turn anyone to her side - he wasn't very interested. She had begged him plenty of times in the past few weeks to do something with her and he had finally decided to leave his room. This trip was more for him to eat delicious food and get her off his back.
"and Ohmaigosh Kayden. That sweater looks amazing on you. like, i don't even." The blonde blabbered, flipping her wrist so she could touch his arm.
Kayden sort of shied away, moving his body slightly so he could sit back in his seat - making the red plastic squeak under his weight. "Thanks." He murmured, his voice not hiding that he was extremely bored. His azure optics started to shift around the room as soon as he picked up his soda and began to drink it slowly. The female across from him continued to blabber on about herself, not bothering to ask any questions. The tables, the other waitresses, the food. Everything seemed so boring. He couldn't help but wish he was a little kid again, with Bryn by his side. They would be sitting here snickering and laughing about some stupid joke while making fun of the people around them in playful ways - anything to make this more interesting. Then they would get their giant plates of food and scarf if down in no time at all. It would have been an amazing time.
Speaking of Bryn, as his eyes traveled around the resturaunt, he noticed someone with the same hair that she had. He couldn't help but stare for a moment, and upon further studying he noticed. IT WAS BRYN. Kayden immediately too in a small breath and started to choke on the drink making it's way down his esophagus. His body leaned forward as he began to cough and the blonde in front of him started to freak out.
"OHMAIGOSH!" She said, trying not to be too loud but at the same time not really caring. "Are you okay?" Her voice was too high pitched now, and only becoming more irritating. Kayden nodded his head, making his dark locks bounce up and down. He had finally caught his breath and his eyes went back to the table that Bryn was sitting at for a split second before returning to the blonde.
Oh shit.

Bryn was having a great time with Jackson. She even laughed so hard she snorted (the laugh she'd only used around Kayden) and Jackson snickered along with her. "Your laugh is the cutest thing."
Bryn blushed and wiped her cheek to cover it up. "It's dorky," she noted and pushed some of her black hair behind her ear to rid it of her face. Just before she could, Jackson leaned over the table and did it for her, sliding his fingers down her jaw smoothly. Bryn's eyes widened at his touch and stared into his large brown ones, a little surprised. But Jackson just smiled and sat back in his chair while clearing his throat.
"You're beautiful, every part of you," Jackson mumbled, a bit of a blush coming into his own cheeks. Bryn bit her lip and studied him up and down. Jackson was making butterflies erupt in her gut and she had no way of controlling it.

With each word that slipped out of the blonde's mouth, Kayden couldn't help but glance over at Bryn and the jackass she was sitting with. He couldn't recognize his face from where he was sitting and that frustrated him. He hadn't spoken to her in a couple weeks and suddenly she was going out on dates with other guys - not that Kayden wasn't doing the same thing but with this female. What bothered him most was remembering what had set him off the last time they were together. How she was "no good for him". But she was obviously good enough for this guy since she was out to dinner with him. The boy was seething with anger. It seemed to radiate off of his body, unbeknownst to the blonde - who had gotten over the earlier show and started to blabber about herself once again.
"What the hell." He mumbled under a heavy breath as he shoved his cheek into his palm. He wasn't trying to hide that he was staring directly over at their table - it wasn't like the bimbo in front of him would notice away.
"What?" She asked, her voice going up an octave once again at the end of her sentence. God that was annoying.
Not breaking his line of sight off the table, he just shrugged. "Nothing." and with that, the female started her blabber once more. Fuck. That was so irritating. Having someone talk in your ear at a constant rate while you were trying to think of a way to talk to your ex - who was on a date with another guy - was so irritating. Every muscle in his body seemed to twitch as his emotions grew. Luckily the waitress walked by, breaking his glare and causing him to focus back on the table he was at. Back to reality. Great. At least the guy brought bread sticks, just what he needed to angrily stuff his face with. And so he did. Grabbing the warm, soft bread in his hand - he started to angrily rip it apart and shove it into his mouth. His eyes continued to glare over at Bryn every few seconds, waiting for his chance.

Bryn started fiddling with her small purse, once again something her aunt gave her, and her eyes would occasionally glance up at Jackson. He smiled back at her, his eyes sparkling in the candle. For some odd reason, Bryn felt sort of...peaceful. This was nice. He was nice. And over all things, she didn't have to think about Kayden or her troubles for once. Here, she wasn't the orphan and wasn't constantly thinking of her past. All week she'd spent nights staring up at her ceiling and thinking of their night together. His hands around her waist as they slept; how emotional he'd gotten at the party. How he held her while she cried and called her beautiful. But it hurt more to remember it and know she'd never be good for him. And she probably wouldn't see him again. It was like living those months apart from him all over again, except this time, it was her fault.
Suddenly Jackson's hands reached through her thoughts and grabbed onto her slim, pale fingers gently. His warm eyes invited her in, like a moth to a flame. If she moved forward with this boy, she could start a new life, maybe forget all her pain. It wasn't that Kayden purposely reminded her of it, it just was there, prodding the back of her mind along with those damn little voices, trying to remind her of the past. But as Jackson leaned forward, parting his lips, Bryn thought maybe, just maybe, she could start off fresh. Maybe she should take a chance.

Another glance. More bread. A couple more glances. Another breadstick. It wasn't long before that had ran out. His hand hit the woven bowl that held the delicious breads and it jogged him back to the table. Every movement that jackass made, made him angrier. The way he smiled. The way he touched her. Just the way he looked at her made him angry. What was this green feeling building up inside of him? Jealously? Certainly not. Kayden Marton never got jealous. He was a proud man that only let his emotions out in front of Bryn. There she was again, in his thoughts. Her name was like a virus - once it got inside it pulled out all the memories from every nook and cranny there was. It was painful and made him feel sick.
The cool and bubbly drink began to wash down all the bread he had been eating. The blondie was finally easier to ignore since she was nibbling on her bread so at least there was something good coming out of the night. But there it was, right in front of him. As he made another glance towards the other table, he saw Mr. Jackass gently grab her hand. One arrow landed directly in his chest, right where his heart sat. Then Mr. Jackass started to lean forward. Another arrow was steadied in the string. He glanced between the two and noticed Bryn's reaction. How it seemed she wasn't objecting to the advance. Ouch. That one hurt. With two arrows deep in his body, he felt like he could fall out of his chair. Curl up in a ball and maybe hide like a turtle for the rest of his life. That would have been great. But sadly, he was no turtle. He had no home on his back. He was human and needed to face his problems head on.
"Excuse me." He said, his tone rushed as he picked himself up out of the red seat with a loud sqeak. So romantic. "I'll be right back."
The blondie looked up at him in question, but just nodded her head - continuing to nibble on the piece of bread she had in her hand. Now this action was probably was going to be something Kayden would regret, because he wasn't thinking. But he didn't care. He just didn't want what was about to happen at their table... happen. The unmentionable.
"Excuse me." He said, his tone different this time as he walked up to Bryn and Mr. Jackass's table. "Sorry to bother you, My name's Kayden Marton. I'm a friend of Bryn." He was trying to be polite, though the words were spoken through a tightened throat. He held out one of his large hands for the guy to shake - a civil enough offer.
