Kayden's breath waved and hiccuped as he tried to get comfortable in her grasp. It was nice having her warmth and scent fill up his lungs - her soothing touch only helping. After a few more tears rolling down his face it became a little easier to stop it. Finally, he didn't feel like he had no control over his emotions. Even though his breath was shaky like it had lost its confidence, he was able to lift his head a little bit off her shoulder. He wasn't able to look in her eyes, though, because that would only bring on another wave of tears down his cheeks. After letting it all out, he just felt extremely numb. Like nothing was there anymore. Almost like he was floating. He leaned his body back slowly, coaxing hers as well so they could lay together on the couch. His arms wrapped around her body slowly, moving across her curves and resting here her shirt ended so he could play with the fabric. All the thoughts from before were still rambling around in his head - but in a muddled way. A filter was placed over them, making it harder to focus on. He just felt so tired all of a sudden. Done with all of this. Just wanted to do something to forget about it. Sleep. That's what he wanted. Sleep or something similar. Drinking? Hell yeah he would like to do that as well. "I'm sorry." He whispered, closing his eyes as to blink away the straggling tears in his eyelashes. Fuck he felt guilty for absolutely everything. The fight with his father, the fight, making Bryn come over, not being there for her, hurting her. But as Augustus Waters would say "That's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt." And all at once.

Bryn sighed into him, smelling his familiar scent, and leaning up to look into his face while swiping away a stray tear he'd missed from his cheek. "You don't have to apologize to me. You didn't do anything," she let her fingers trail over the lined of his face, then to the tips of his hair hanging on his forehead, running her fingers through it with a small smile. It was a few minutes later of just running her hands softly through his hair that she said quietly, "You know, I'll listen if you ever want to tell me things."
Her tone was sincere along with the shine in her blue eyes, trailing over his face until they landed on his lips. Slowly she bent down and kissed them softly, just barely pressing them to his and running her hands down the side of his face again. Her arms moved to wrap around him more, wanting it to feel like she was there for him physically and emotionally. "I'm here, I promise. You picked me up when I was at my lowest, and I'm always here if you're feeling like that too."

His eyes closed at her fingers running through his hair. It was comforting enough to filter out most of his thoughts from his head. Finally, he was really relaxing. Not just a numbness. Still, that creeping feeling was itching around like a bug - but that was to be expected. Right now, he just wanted to get rid of the emotions. Chill. Try not to think about it too much. He wasn't ready for that yet. There was a small pause as he tried to recollect his thoughts after her kiss. She had no idea how much of an effect she had on him. In, basically, all the right ways. A microscopic smile tugged at his lips before quickly falling. "I don't know if I want to talk about it right now." He muttered, keeping his eyes shut as he tightened his grip around her waist. He still was playing with the fabric of her shirt for a while before resting his hand on the bare skin lying underneath. A large sigh escaped his lips, completely hollowing his chest before quickly filling back up with air. "What was it like?" He started, his voice wavering a little bit out of nervousness, "Losing... your parents?"

Bryn had watched him carefully, fingers still trickling through his hair, understanding. Her throat tightened a little when he asked her about her parents, still not completely healed from it. It'd been almost a year and she still found herself waking up and screaming for them, crying out to no one because they were gone. They had been ripped from her before her dad could walk her down the isle and her mom could help her get ready for her prom. Both parents, two of her best friends, gone in one god damn car accident like they'd never been human. Never been breathing. Just pawns of the world that the universe could play with freely, not caring. Not minding that it'd ripped them away from their fifteen year old daughter. Before she got too caught up in her thoughts, she didn't realized she'd stopped stroking his hair until she cleared her throat and began to do so again. "Well," she cleared her throat, eyes focused on her fingers doing their job rather than Kayden. "It was like someone had ripped them from me like a permanent band aid. They'd been living seconds before the crash and then boom, off the bridge they went," her voice was quiet, for the first time in a long time bringing up how they'd died and hating everyone and everything for it. "I felt empty afterwards. A bit numb too. My grandma was at the house at the time and I only peaked around the corner to see the cops. They told her something I couldn't hear and she fell to her knees while crying," Bryn's voice was soft as she still focused on his hair. It was dark, deep waters where her mind was going about now. "I think she was more upset that she had to take me in in that moment than she was about their death. She's always hated having me as a burden," she spoke honestly, her fingers stopping and her head laying to rest on Kayden's chest a bit, suddenly tired. "But when they told me, I didn't believe it until the next day, dad never came home. And mom never made dinner, and I didn't get to get my goodnight kiss from them," her voice cracked a little and she squeezed her eyes shut. "And it's been so long that I can't even remember their voices anymore," she told him, then after a few minutes of heavy breathing to push back the tears, she realized she probably wasn't helping Kayden feel any better so she pushed back up to look at him in the eyes. "You wanna know the two things that kept me going for the most part?" she asked him, hoping to cheer him up a bit. She slid her hand down her pocket, past Kayden's manhood with a bit of a smirk before bringing out a small keychain that looked like it'd been made my a five year old. Which is had - it read in big beaded letters BESTBUDS and had another bead with a flower next to it. She didn't know if Kayden had the same one, but she knew his had had a football on it, the sport he loved to play as a kid. She slipped it into his fingers, smiling sweetly. "It was before our fight, and I took it with me every where I went. Even the funeral," she bit her lip, staring at the cracked letters and running her fingers over Kayden's peck softly. A small ironic laugh left her lips. "Even after you egged my head I still hung onto it. I don't really know why, but it was comforting. Good memories, you know?" she glanced up at him, finally meeting his eyes with her large glazed ones, smiling ever so slightly, even a bit sorrowfully.
