[ I had an idea. Like, when they're walking away from the coffee shop they could get attacked by some Ayres's men, so Landon is forced to shift into a wolf to protect Sabrina, but she blames it on her hallucinating and her condition, so Landon goes along with it so she stays ignorant to the shifters? ]
The moment they stepped out of the police station, a chill swept over them, nippier than the usual autumn air. Landon shivered, pulling his jacket tighter around his neck, but not so much that he had to zip up his jacket. Wolves were naturally warm creatures. He ran his fingers through his dark chocolate hair, as they wandered down the street. It was kind of late, so not many people roamed out and about. "You'd be surprised how many of your own work for Ayres." Landon replied, as they came upon the warm lights of an all-night café. He opened the door. "After you, Detective." He said, smirking at her. Once inside he ordered a coffee black. He was hungry, but then again, he always was. Especially after shifting back to human, he was both exhausted and hungry, but he could wait. He didn't want to have his mouth full whenever he talked to Sabrina.
As they took a seat at a table, Landon looked out over the dark street and bright street lamps. Something shifted outside, moving in the shadows, but Landon returned his piercing blue eyes back to Sabrina. He pulled out his phone, glancing at the time. "I have somewhere else to be soon, so let's make this as quick as possible. What do you need to know?" Landon asked, setting down his coffee and popping off the lid so the liquid would cool faster. He watched her, thinking to himself. His other hand came to his pocket, checking on the hard drive. It held a couple leads, and other things about the case on the murder of Michael Ayres. He figured he'd let Sabrina ask the questions here, so he didn't reveal too much. Landon was walking the line now, about to verge into a path. If Sabrina learned too much, the Cross family could go to jail. But if she learned too much about other things, she'd be in unexplainable danger. No mundane was allowed to know about the shifters, unless one was going to marry another. And Landon didn't feel like marrying her.

I love the idea
And replying
I'm seriously liking that we aren't starting out with obvious romantic intentions between the two of them

Sabrina shivered as they walked out of the police station and into the windy dark Boston night, it was surprisingly cold for fall but Boston had a tendency to be a bit strange when it came to weather. Quickly Sabrina grabbed her scarf from her pocket of her jacket and wound it around her neck, she always found herself cold nowadays, just a couple degrees too chilly, never able to feel the right temperature. The only time she ran hot was during panic attacks, being warm wasn't worth that to her. As he opened the door Sabrina was still too busy trying to get warm to thank him, she just gave him a quick blank look and stepped into the cafe. Sabrina chose not to order any coffee, she got a bottle of water, her mouth felt dry after talking to Brenden then his father then Landon. As they sat, Sabrina looked down at the table, pushing the bottle between her fingers, slowly moving it across the table. She didn't see anything outside.
She was a bit taken off guard when Landon abruptly started speaking. Sabrina didn't look up immediately as she started to speak, her voice was soft, but there was something dangerous about her tone. "That in some capacity, some small small way, I can trust you. And you me. Because for this to work, I need you to cover me. I've been undercover before, but this is big. If you screw up, I die. And no way am I going to be a peaceful spirit. I'll haunt your ass. And, that your information is worth me putting my career and my life on the line. If it's not, this becomes my first and last suicide mission. Today isn't the day I'd like to die." She was blunt and direct as she looked up to meet his gaze, the storm in full swing in those blue green eyes of hers. She was curious as to what Landon would say. He hated cops just like the rest of them. Being close to her meant she could find things about him he didn't want a cop to know. But he loved Brenden like a brother, so what would win out? Personally she was going to figure this out with or without him. But he increased her survival odds a few points, which would be nice. But there was another twisted side to this coin. If she let the corruption and darkness of this world seep into her, she might not find her way back out. This could be what pushed her over the edge, past the point of no return.

Landon reached forward and surprisingly took her hand, no not her hand, her wrist. His fingers were digging into her pulse point, eyes so extremely blue. “Good, we’re on the same fucking page.” His smile was dry. He was so close, his lashes brushing his cheeks with each blink. “If anyone knows who you are, you will die. No way around it.” He pulled his hand back, lacing them together. Landon would do anything for Brenden, just as he knew Brenden would do the same for him. To be honest, if Sabrina hadn’t decided to go along with it, he probably would have done a jail break. Landon gazed at Sabrina. “You have to trust me though. If I say to do something, you have to do it. If I tell you to leave the place we are at, with or without me,” He said, looking steadily at her. “And I know that’s hard, but there are politics involved in this that, no offense, you don’t understand.” He waited for her to challenge it for a moment, taking a sip of his coffee. “However, this world you are about to enter is about to put you in serious danger, which you know. One slip up and you’re dead.” He said, almost saying it nonchalantly as if it was no big deal.

Sabrina stopped pushing the bottle as Landon's fingers closed around her wrist. There was nothing gentle or affectionate about it, it was to emphasize a point, force her to focus on the moment, but in spite of all of that, it would be easy enough for him to notice, her heart started to beat just a little bit faster. But not necessarily, or wholly, from attraction, but from the instinctive fear. No one touched her like that in her life, Bryan was tender with her. The people at work and she never touched, the last person who had, was Ross, as he died. There was something in Landon's blue gaze that suggested a pleased nature, that she had chosen to help. But there was no gratitude, or thankfulness. And that was okay. Just another thing that was different about him. Sabrina let him finish, just holding his gaze constantly and keeping quiet. " okay, I will. And fine. I get this is your world, not mine." She agreed quietly, but there was nothing submissive or yielding in her tone. " one thing though, if, and perhaps when, the day comes and you think it might be safer or better or more sensible for you to let me die. Just take a minute and reconsider. Take a few minutes and think it over. That's all. So where do we start?" She asked

Landon laughed softly. "Slow down, tiger." he said, chuckling at the irony. He took a couple sips of his coffee, gulping down the warm liquid. "Let's start off with the drug leads. There is a dealer in prison who some thing he still works for Ayres inside." He found his fingers curling over the hard drive again, under the table. He honestly kind of liked her. She had fire, yet she'd seen things. And yet, she didn't break against him, didn't fight him. She had no idea what she was getting into. He really didn't mind her ignorance, easier than explaining his shifting abilities and the fact that the major crime family in the city was a pride of lions, and Magnus Cross's nickname, Mad Dog was pretty damn accurate in the scope of things. Speaking of that, he glanced at the time. Nearly eleven. He had a hunt tonight. It happened every full moon, and the Cross family went out on a hunt. Usually it ended up with the siblings chasing each other and the Bolton ravens would flutter about. "I got to get going, Family business to attend to, but we should meet in the morning and drive over to talk to the guy. Name's Cyrus McClain if you want to run him before." Landon stood up. "But I'll walk you back." Landon said quickly, looking at his phone again. Magnus would be pissed if Landon was late, again.
[ shall we have the attack? ]

Sabrina shrugged in a slightly apologetic manner mainly because it was courtesy but didn't say sorry. Her work was important to her. It was a little bit funny, her a police work. The same stuff that seemed to have completely messed her up was also the one thing these days that helped. In law enforcement, there were facts, distinct logical conclusions, grounded in the truth. She was having a hard time with facts lately, at least when it came to herself. Sabrina listened attentively, taking note and trying to file away everything in her head as he spoke, dealer, on the inside. Connected to the Ayres family. She nodded keeping her eyes on him as he spoke. It was funny, since they'd sat down, Sabrina couldn't help but notice, she hadn't seen anything. Which was a miracle given her current state. Moment later he was ready to exit, Sabrina was almost unwilling to go, Bryan would be up and definitely not happy with her. Then eventually he'd fall asleep still grumbling and she'd stay away, staring at the ceiling and the walls, until sunrise, just like every single day since it had happened. No sleep. She was sure at this point the purplish dark circles under her eyes were a permanent fixture, " I'll meet you tomorrow, here at 7. I'll get your visitors paperwork all sorted out." Sabrina agreed " and I will." She stood, following his lead and adjusted the scarf around her neck once more, briefly exposing a sinister, thin looking scar on the side of it. But in a flash the fabric and her golden locks shielded it from view once more. On principal, Sabrina wanted to object his offer or suggestion, but thought better of it. As they stepped outside once more she settled for saying" I'd be fine, but thank you.' She didn't sound snobby or appalled. It was just facts. Clearly she didn't know what a dangerous walk this would be.
yes please (:
