Bryn watched him doubtfully but ended up having to follow him into his car anyways. She slid into the drivers seat, letting her head rest against the headrest almost instantly after the door shut behind her. Her heart was still beating horribly fast in her chest and her hands shook with adrenaline. This entire situation had left her scared out of her mind, but she still couldn't shake the feeling of Kayden's lips on hers, which overpowered the feeling of fear. The soft tips of her fingers nimbly caressed the curve of her lips and cupid's bow, reliving the moment in her mind. She wished wholeheartedly that they could've kissed somewhere else, somewhere without other dates who beat up the person you loved. The focus of her vision went over to where Kayden was breathing heavily and leaning to one side of his body. "Don't lie to me," she said in a deep, semi-threatening voice. "I know when you lie. What hurts?" she asked, slipping her torso over the center consul of his car easily to get closer to him. Her gentle touch felt along his side, looking for a reaction to it when she pushed.

Kayden's eyes widened - one because her touch was still sending shockwaves through his body - and two because he didn't want her to touch anywhere that hurt. "Fuck!" He roared, quickly moving his body away from her hands as she began to gently poke at his ribs. It sent lightning through his body, followed by a slow burning throb all the way to the tips of his fingers. He had to take a few quick breathes into his lungs before he was able to fully speak once more. "Okay, My ribs hurt like hell." He admitted, glancing at Bryn with only one open eye. Pain had claimed the other one. His breathing was a little lofty and a bit too hard. He couldn't help but lean his head forward - as slow as possible - and rest his forehead on the cold steering wheel. It seemed like that was the only way to get the throbbing to stop. It was weird and uncomfortable - Kayden didn't quite understand why this worked - but it felt good so he didn't want to move. "Sorry you had to see that." He mumbled, trying to get his mind off his injuries, and maybe to get Bryn to stop worrying. Of course this was a fleeting idea, but it was worth a shot.

Bryn didn't know if Kayden knew this, but she wasn't like most girls. Most females would back down at his intensity and leave him be. But Bryn wasn't like them, obviously. And she knew Kayden better than anyone. She flinched when he shouted, though she'd been expecting it, and found the spot again where it hurt. Instead of poking it hard again, her fingers gently grazed the injured area over his shirt lightly. Her blue eyes danced up to gaze at his crumbled form and then she slowly lifted up his shirt so that it wouldn't hurt him further. Her breath was shaky as she leaned forward and kissed every spot that was beginning to bruise; they could been seen even in the moonlight. Her lips, very tentatively, pressed against his wounds and her cold hands laid tentatively around him, almost like she was keeping him in place. "Shh," she cooed softly, lowering the shirt and running her thumb pad over his cheek. "It's okay. I love you. That's all that matters."

Kayden shifted his head so he could look over at her. Words couldn't express the feelings that swelled inside his body. It felt so wonderful to have someone you've been wanting for so long to say words like "I love you" Even though he was in slight pain, he wanted to jump up and cheer - explode his feelings out to everyone and anyone nearby. Except for maybe Jackson. Screw Jackson. Explode Jackson - yeah, do that. Kayden couldn't help the smile that slowly appeared on his features. "I love you too." He murmured, his voice like a cat's purr - soft yet showing now much he enjoyed the words easily flowing out of his mouth. He would have shifted and turned his body to give her a large kiss, but he was afraid it might hurt too much to move like that - you know what? Screw that. Despite the pain it caused him, he turned his body and leaned over that annoying center console. (God, did he wish it would just go away sometimes). His lips neared hers and he planted a little peck - just something soft to express how he felt. Comfortable and relaxed. All the anger and frustration from before was now all gone. He was with Bryn and that was all that mattered, just like she said. "I guess I should take you home?" He said, questioningly as he leaned back in his seat so he faced the large front windshield.

Bryn intercepted his kiss, making that amazing feeling spike all over her again. Too soon it was over and she was left with the distant memory of it once more. She knew she had to snatch another one once he was feeling better. But for right now she had an even better idea. "Why don't we go to my old house?" Bryn felt slightly mischievous saying that. Not even her aunt had any idea if someone had moved into their old house and Bryn thought maybe it'd be fun to go explore a bit. Maybe the harsh memories would come back too, but she was ready. She had Kayden to fight for her and with her and she was excited for a small burst of memories without them being painful. Then she frowned, "I mean unless you're in too much pain, then I want to make sure you get home alright."

Kayden took in a small breath, not contemplating the status of the pulsing throughout his body, but about whether or not he should take Bryn to that old house. It held so many memories - good and bad. Something inside of him said that it wasn't the best idea. As it would bring all those thoughts of Bryn's parents - his second parents back to his head. And what about Bryn. If it effected either of them most, it would be Bryn. After all, their passing had changed her entire life. It moved her and made her have to worry about things like jobs and money that Kayden didn't even have to wave a finger at. Despite all of this, he nodded. "I'm fine. Let's go." A small smile crossed over his lips as he glanced over at Bryn, his eyes filled with excitement. Though he felt that fire burning in his side, it should subside in enough time - no need to be a baby about it. He placed the keys in the ignition and started it up with a soft pur. No GPS needed for this trip. He could remember every street and turn he needed to get on. After all, his home wasn't far away from hers when they were younger.

Bryn reached over the dash and grabbed his hand, almost for reassurance. She was ready, but she was scared. She hadn't visited this old house in so long and for it to spike up memories in her head might just kill her mood of happiness. But she refused to let it. As he drove, she remembered the important street landmarks she'd grown up recognizing and counted them off in her head. Weird shape rock, flamingo in the Destiny's front yard, yellow fire hydrant, and awkward bush in Mr. Joes yard. Then her eyes landed on the small, but quaint, and beautiful home she'd missed so dearly. Her breath got caught in her throat. She had to calm down, show that she wasn't weak anymore. There was still so much room she had to grow to get over their deaths, and hell, she probably never would completely. But this was the first step. And she was ready to take the move with the boy she loved.

The familiar red door caught Kayden's attention as they drove up into the driveway void of cars. The empitness sent a pang of guilt through his mind and made him question why he wanted to go here in the first place. It was empty now. The house didn't hold that warmth and family vibe that it did before. Now it was sort of creepy in a way... that might of also been because they were visiting it at night. The silence was deafening and that's all he could focus on once the car's engine cut off. Normally, he would come over and her parents would come out of the door and say hello - talk to his parents and invite him inside for snacks. Bryn would cut him off, mid-bite and make him go on different adventures with her every day. He thought he could hear the echo of her father's voice - but it was just a mirage of memories replaying in his head. In the rear-view mirror he could see the small for sale sign still sitting in the front yard. It had been so long, and it was still on sale? Or had new owners sold the house as it lost it's ability to be a home now that it lost it's rightful owners. With the moonlight as his only guide, he shifted his head over to Bryn and a reassuring smile and a small squeeze of her hand. This was the time he wanted to make sure that Bryn was ready for what was to come. Only painful nostalgia was going to come from this time on. Losing your parents hurt, and facing items directly related to them only brought back painful feelings. "You ready?" He asked, his voice soft as if he was scared to break the silence.

Bryn squeezed his hand again and gave him a small smile back. "Yeah, I'm good." She moved to step out of the car again but stopped half way. "Let's not go inside. I don't even think we can," she commented with a frown, but visiting the interior hadn't been her plan in the first place. Bryn knew if she stepped foot in there she'd remember things of her parents and didn't want that; but where they were going, there were only memories of Kayden and her. The roof. She slipped out of the car and shut the door as quietly as she could. It was late and she didn't want to wake the neighbors who might report her saying something like, "Orphan girl tries to break into old house". Her eyes traveled up the front drive and towards the top window where her parents room used to be. Her old one was on the back side of the house, over looking the back yard. She flashed him a quick smile over the front of the car's hood. "I'm pretty sure you already know where to go, since you snuck up to my roof about eight hundred times in the past."

The smile that followed couldn't be helped. Thinking about all the times they had spent up on the roof made him fill up with joy. Okay, so not everything about this house was bad. There were wonderful memories to be thought of instead of just ones with her parents. Ones with Bryn and Kayden. Just the two of them. All the hiding spots, all the bushes they would hide in, everything like that. As he looked back over the house, that was all he could see. Those moments lighting up in his optics as if they were unraveling in front of him just like they did to her parents. Everything didn't have to be bitter, you just had to look at it differently.
"Yeah." He muttered, a slight chortled escaping his lips without hesitation. He knew the perfect path to that black-squared star gazing matt, right behind the bushes filled with pink flowers. The door shut softly behind him in the same manner as Bryn's and started to make his way towards the most familiar yard. It was in the same state as the front yard, just a little neglected. No matter, that wasn't the concern at the moment. With a tousle of that wavy, dark hair that sat atop Bryn's head, he slowly interlaced his fingers with his and further lead her to the exact bushes he had used so many times to hide his sneaking. It actually had a little patch still formed in between the separate plants where he had shoved his body so many times. As he tried to do this now, his body didn't fit through. His muscles rubbed and scratched against the slightly bare twigs barren of the lovely pink flowers that were once inhabitants. It slightly ached as it touched his more sensitive spots thanks to that earlier fight - but he did his best to ignore it and not show his discomfort. "It's right up here." He said smugly, pointing one of his large fingers at the trail from a small ledge to the roof of the porch. It was an easy pathway, only requiring a little effort and maybe a bit of help if you weren't the right height. His blue eyes trailed over to Bryn's dark figure as he wanted to make sure that she could make it up with someone having her back before he shoved his large body up there.

Bryn knew the exact path he was taking, and following gingerly behind him, taking in every moment like it was the last she'd ever see of it. But in truth, she didn't know what the future held. Mostly if Kayden was involved or if they'd ever be in this place again, together. Just like old times. She giggled slightly as he got stuck on some of the branches and pushed them aside slightly so he could get through. "Not bad for not being ten anymore," Bryn teased and followed him in the direction of their destination.
( I'm sorry I'm tired and have lots of feels from your post and Shades and albsdlbaleb but anyways wouldn't it be so cute if they bought this house if they ever got married -so cute Maples good thought- )

OMG SUCH CUTE AHHHHHHHHH
Kayden shifted his body and placed one of his feet on top of a small window ledge a little higher up. Using this added height, he could finally grab onto the porch roof ledge and pull his body up. He couldn't help but pause and scrunch back from the pain in his side. Stretching the skin only made waves of throbbing come back stronger than before. A groan slipped out of his mouth, but a quick intake of the cold night air made him feel a little better. His eyes shifted down to Bryn in a reassuring way before he finally lifted his body up using his arms. The black squares that made up the roof were tattered and a little worn. It had been a while since they had changed. Kayden couldn't get his eyes off the mess for a while - he could remember when he climbed up here and it was spotless. Everything changes with time it seems. Another intake of the night air - Pain subsided. Those eyes moved back to Bryn and he crouched down, pressing his knees against the sandpaper-like roof. After a moment, he stretched out his arm and helped up the girl. Soon it felt like old times, just the two of them. Up on a roof with the stars as their light.
bad reply ;o;

Bryn pushed up on the same step and grabbed onto Kayden's hand as he pulled her up onto her old roof. She'd only come up this way whenever she'd sneak out to see him or when they had adventures in the middle of the night as kids. It felt good to be reminded of the past like this - only good feelings, not sad or mournful ones. Still grasping his hand close to hers, Bryn took a few steps up the inclining roof towards the edge of her old window where a small bench like structure was placed. The white slab of wood was meant as a decoration for the outside of the house's windows, but it was just big enough to fit two butts comfortably to gaze up or at the city nearby. There weren't any houses behind hers, only opening into small field and then beyond that the sparkling lights of down town. THe view was just as beautiful as she remembered.
Taking a seat, carefully so she didn't lose her balance, she drug Kayden to that sitting seat and kissed the top of his large hands. Her eyes traveled over the city with a brightness in them that was either happiness or just a reflection from the lights. "I misses this," she breathed, still awe struck from the view.

Kayden pressed his booty into the space next to Bryn. With the cold air having been the only thing wrapping him up, it was nice to have her body warmth on his side. He wanted more. He wanted to be closer. So he stretched his arm around her shoulders and brought her closer to his body. His nose went into her hair immediately as her body neared. Her shampoo ravaged his nose, and he didn't mind. It overtook his thoughts and he placed a small kiss on her head. "I miss it too." He murmured, glancing over into the city lights. So many times had he seen this view, but this time it held more meaning than before. It had memories, pain, happiness, and all that sappy stuff that comes with it. Saying he was happy was wrong. Saying he was ecstatic, now that would be a bit closer.

Bryn felt his nose in her ear, which tickled and she back away. "Stop it," she grinned, batting at him with a flap of her dainty fingers. She brought some of them up to her ear and glanced at him while bending over to laugh a little.
