Alyssa smiled down at him, head first in his pillow, it had been a while since they'd been walked in on. The last time had to be....her mother? Yeah that was quite a long time ago. " no your not going to kill him. He can't make me pancakes if he's dead" she murmured, settling herself in beside him. Hearing the music Alyssa chuckled softly, clearly Steven was desperate to get his point across. " your friends because he's pretty amazing, I can't exactly blame him for being so disturbed or shocked....I wasn't exactly expecting that kind of wake up call either." She replied softly studying Ryan's face with an evident intensity. Just how close they'd come to losing all concept of controls wasn't lost on the young blonde. She felt guilty, because it had been something she had asked of him and she couldn't even respect it for more than a few hours into their new relationship. It hadn't been all that long since she'd been with someone, being that she had been engaged but it never felt right, not the way she remembered it with Ryan, it was like trying chocolate then going years deprived of it. Nothing compared. Soon enough Ryan was laughing too and Alyssa smiled leaning in as she felt his lips brush against her jaw. Alyssa nodded in response then paused for a moment. What.....what was this exactly ? Between them? Were they dating or just getting to know each other again? Was it monogamous? Did he want other people? All of a sudden a small fear starting constricting her chest, causing a small panic. Trying to ignore the thought Alyssa slowly spoke up " hey, look I know we didn't talk about it much but we should about if you wanna see other girls or whatever or don't feel okay fully committing to just this....because I get it. I didn't expect you to wait for me. So if there's anything you need to finish, or not finish we should talk about it. But I'm really fine" she insisted. Totally not fine. Because as much as she loved Ryan, and seen how he felt about her, fear and doubt nagged at her insides, this felt to perfect too come without something being wrong.
Oh really? How's it go?

Ryan blinked. He knew she wasn't in a relationship with her fiance anymore, so he didn't really think that she'd sleep around since now they were together. He kind of thought they could be partners, together. Just them. He paused, considering his words carefully. "Alyss," he murmured, reaching out to tuck a piece of hair behind her ear, fingers gently brushing against her cheek. "I," he blushed again, looking away. "I haven't been with a girl, like, I haven't had actual sex since you." He whispered. "And that's really stupid, I know, but I haven't felt that way about any girl since you." It came out in a breathless rush. "I mean, yeah, I've made out and gotten pretty close, but it doesn't feel right." he looked up at her, genuine. "I've tried to see other people," he said carefully. He bit his lip. "Everyone in my life is not invested in me romantically, and I'm not intimate with anyone else," He said, taking a deep breath. "If you want to see other guys, that's okay, I understand. I left you, and I don't deserve you back, the fact that you stayed with me last night is more than I could have asked for." he blinked slowly, cheeks reddening again. He once again needed to put a sock in it. He stopped talking, even though words continued to bubble at his mouth, but he kept his trap shut. His fingers curled around his wrist, thumb rubbing over the scars that lingered. He didn't even notice he was doing it, too much of a habit to quit now.
I just, uh, would like to thank my sponsors //breaks into sobbing// xD

Alyssa didn't actually want anyone else, now or ever really. But she didn't know what to expect on Ryan's end. Even though he'd told her he hadn't loved anyone else...that didn't exclude him from making a poor or series of poor decisions about sleeping around wherever he wanted. Truthfully if he had, she didn't want to care but....that jealousy building in her head just wouldn't shut up. Which is why, even though it was a bit selfish, when he told her that there hadn't been anyone else, Alyssa was thoroughly relieved. The barest hint of a smile shone on the blonde's lips as Ryan continued in a sort of slightly embarrassed rush of words. When he mentioned trying to see other people, she raised an eyebrow a bit curious, but not prying and continued to listen attentively, almost feeling a little horrible for what she seemed to have done to Ryan. All of a sudden he was assuring her it was okay to date other people and she had to make him stop. So quickly, Alyssa leaned in and kissed him hard, before pulling back abruptly. " Ryan, do me a favor? Shut up okay?' She murmured, her words were playing but the look in her eyes was totally genuine and loving, she didn't want him thinking like that ever again. He couldn't. Once he finally stopped, Alyssa slipped her hand over hers, over those damned scars. " I want no one else. Ever. I mean that. Losing you was the worst thing that's ever happened to me and I'll be damned if I let you slip away again. I....I love you Ryan, I never stopped."

Ryan felt his lips curve into a smile. He moved closer to her, his lips crashing onto her. "I love you too, and that's all we need to say." he said, taking the hand that curled around his wrist and slid their fingers together. Their fingers seemed to melt together, twined and fitted together like puzzle pieces. He leaned forward to kiss her when he heard his phone go off. Groaning, he sighed. "I swear to god, if it is Steven," he rolled over to his nightstand, fingers still wrapped around Alyss's, not really wanting to let go. He grabbed his phone and sighed. "I can't get five minutes alone with the girl I love, can I? Without someone needing me for something." He said, glaring at his phone as he picked up. "Hello?" he smirked a bit. "What's up, Dom?" He asked, blinking a bit. "Practice? What? I thought we had it later." He said, listening for a moment. Ryan bit his lip, thinking. "Fuck off, I'm tired, okay?" and he rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I'm your Captain, I pick when practices are." He said, chuckling. "Slacker." Could be heard on the other end and Ryan hung up. Ryan glanced at her, chuckling. "We can't have one serious moment, can we?" He said, leaning over to kiss her lightly with a slight smile.

Alyssa smiled back at him. The young lady responses instantly when Ryan's lips touched her, pressing herself closer to him as they kissed. " always" she murmured, in agreement to his next words. Alyssa held his hand tightly, almost like if she let go she'd loose him. But their hands together were like a lock and key, forever tied to one another. All of a sudden the peace between them was disturbed, interrupted by the abrupt sound of Ryan's phone starting to ring. Alyssa sighed softly, nestling further in against the covers, as if hiding from the reality of a life outside them that was represented by the ringing of this phone. "Apparently not" Alyssa murmured rolling her eyes as he picked up his phone. There was someone named dom on the other end. Any other time Alyssa would've been happy to meet this dom, probably a friend of Ryan's...but right now she kind of just wanted Ryan kissing, preferably without being interrupted. So Dom was bothering her right now. Thankfully Ryan seemed to feel the same and hung up quickly, then leaned over to kiss her. Alyssa responded her kissing him softly, one hand on his cheek. But reality had gotten to her and she pulled back with a small groan " ugh. Okay. No. I need to get up, we need to get up otherwise we're gonna spend our life in bed just making out." It didn't sound that bad but there had to be some reason other things were good too....right?

Ryan shifted onto his side, his fingers tracing over her cheek. "I fail to see the problem with that." He replied, leaning in and trying to kiss her again when a knock on the door. Ryan rolled over and groaned. "I think the world thinks differently." He groaned, and leaned back against the pillows. "Come in." He called and the door opened and Steven stepped in, his hand firmly clamped over his eyes. It would have been endearing if he hadn't been peering out from his fingers. Ryan rolled his eyes. "You better have pancakes, or else Alyss will want to kill you too." He said, almost threatening if not for his smile. Steven lowered his hand and rolled his insane blue eyes. "Please. Not after she tries them." He turned to Alyssa. "Why do you think he lives with me? Do you think he actually likes me?" He said it jokingly and grinned before turning and exiting with a soft chuckle. Ryan reached over and laced his fingers with Alyssa's and leaned over for a light kiss. "He lies. He loves me." He said softly. "But you'll love him after you eat his food. He's like Hades, you try one bite of his food and you're trapped forever." Ryan joked, and then will all his willpower slid out of bed, and opened his drawer to pull out a pair of shorts, otherwise he was just in boxers. [xD]

i missed them <3 so what's the next wrench we throw at them? Maybe Jason's family sues her or does something?
Feeling Ryan's fingers again, Alyssa lost all will to want to leave her spot. She rolled her eyes and chuckled softly as he spoke up but turned away refusing to let him kiss her again, that was going to result in neither of them leaving the room for at least a few more hours. And she did want to go outside eventually. Hearing a knock and putting together that it had to be Steven, Alyssa sat up slowly trying to make sure she looked at least halfway decent, which she luckily was. She smiled seeing Steven and leaned back against Ryan as he walked in. " he's not kidding, I've murdered over less" she deadpanned but only lasted a few seconds before cracking a smile. Hearing Steven she nodded readily, if he was lying she would never forgive him. Love and pancakes were the few things Alyssa was deadly serious about. As Steven slowly wandered out and Ryan spoke again, Alyssa shifted around trying to find the will again to sit up and walk out the door. Mercifully, Ryan made the leap first. Following suit, Alyssa slid out of the bed and threw on a t-shirt, no clue if it was hers or not but not really caring, she was too focused on getting to the pancakes. With Ryan right behind her she stepped over the threshold and into the rest of the apartment, smiling happily as the delicious scent of pancake batter and syrup hit her nose. Thank god for Steven.

Ryan laced his fingers with Alyss's as they walked into the kitchen. Steven was sitting at the table by the balcony. On the counter was a heaping pile of perfect golden brown pancakes smothered with butter. Syrup and jam was in containers. A couple pancakes sat in front of Ryan's blonde roommate [god Ryan loves his blondes] "You can thank me later." Steven said, reaching to sip out of a wine glass. Ryan gave him a disapproving glare. Steven looked up. "What? It's juice, I swear to god Ryan. I'm not an alcoholic." Ryan rolled his eyes, but didn't argue with the man who made the most delicious pancakes. He pulled out a plate, handing one to Alyss, knowing what happened if you got between her and the pancakes. He speared a few with his fork and dragged them onto his plate, pouring an unhealthy amount of sugary syrup on top, and wandered over to the table, sitting across from Steven. "So," Steven drawled. "What's the plan for today?" He asked, blue eyes flicking up to Ryan, then Alyssa.
[ hm. maybe not sue. but like, to like make the first thing mild that Steven and Alyss go out to go shopping or something mundane and to talk and stuff while Ryan goes to take pictures, and Alyss's mother has kept tabs on her, and thinks Steven if Alyssa's "second-man." So she goes to Ryan to tell him in 'sympathy' because she is trying to get Ryan to break up with her, but Ryan laughs it off because Steven is not interested in Alyssa, and then Alyssa's mom [and maybe Jason's mom too] try to break them up again somehow? ]

Alyssa smiled, squeezing Ryan's hand back lightly, it took her back to just walk with him like this as stupid as she knew it sounded. But it felt good, safe, she loved just knowing he was right there and that meant everything was going to be okay. Of course another thing that always made Alyssa feel good and safe was pancakes. Once they were in view she dropped Ryan's hand and rushed over to collect her own heaping plate. Once Alyssa had piled a stack high with a generous amount of syrup she took her seat between the boys and smiled listening as she wolfed down food. The only pause she took was to interrupt by adding " Steven I don't give a damn how much you drink. Drink whatever you went if it means you make these all the time." This was said with her mouth full, giving her chipmunk cheeks. It was lucky Ryan had always found her bad habits endearing. Once there was nothing left on her plate. Alyssa looked up again to listen. Hearing Steven she shrugged. " I definitely need to go out. Do something beyond the four walls of this apartment. The same should apply to you two." She spoke up then continued pointing her fork at Ryan " especially you, otherwise I swear I will never do anything besides be in your room and eat Stevens pancakes, I'm a slave to love and food." She insisted, but smiled as she did so. " what about you Steven? Anything in mind?' She asked, turning her attention back to the genius chef slash roommate.

Steven tilted his juice in a wine glass to Ryan. "See, and she hasn't even tasted my pancakes with vodka and cranberries." He said, and Steven was grinning like a madman. Ryan grumbled something about if Steven didn't make food they wouldn't be friends. All three of them knew otherwise, which is mainly why Steven studiously ignored the comment. He glanced to Alyss, popping a forkful of his pancakes into his mouth, and nodded. "I really am a genius." He said, and Ryan rolled his eyes, but couldn't disagree. He was stuffing himself full too. At least they'd never go hungry. Ryan chuckled and hooked his ankle around hers under the table. "Maybe that is my plan, to keep you here forever." He joked and nodded. "I have some photography projects to catch up on. Maybe you two could hang out?" Ryan suggested this tentatively. Steven smiled and glanced to Alyss. "Only if you don't mind us raising some hell in the city." He grinned and glanced to Alyss. "I think it'd be fun for us to bond a little more." Steven added, and Ryan glanced to Alyss, waiting her consent. Ryan figured Alyss knew why Steven wanted to talk more with her. Steven had heard so much about her from Ryan over the years, that he was curious to make the same assessment. It wasn't to be nasty, just human nature. Curiosity. And Steven was a nimble enough cat not to get killed. Ryan loved Alyss, and he loved Steven. So if they loved each other, like brother and sister, it would kind of be like Ryan finally had a family, and he looked down, feeling a little silly smile slid onto his lips. [d'awww]

Alyssa looked up her eyes wide with interest and surprise and Steven mentioned this new recipe"there's more? Why the hell are you holding out on me?" She asked sounding perhaps even the tiniest bit offended or put off. Even still it didn't last long, the banter between the boys brought a smile back to the Blonde's face quite quickly. All of a sudden she felt Ryan's leg against hers under the table and couldn't restrain a small giggle from escaping her lips in the process. " is that so?" Alyssa questioned, raising a thin golden eyebrow at her "captor" " I can be pretty inventive if I wanted to escape" she pointed out, chuckling softly as she did so. Ryan continued but did not make any move to pull his leg away which she had no problem with. Feeling close to him, even in extremely minuscule ways, gave Alyssa this little thrill she had never quite been able to explain or articulate. Ryan had business to attend to which Alyssa didn't mind, them being together didn't mean they dropped the world for each other. That wasnt healthy and she didn't want that for them. Hearing his suggestion she smiled and shrugged her agreement as she looked over at Steven happily. After taking a moment to collect her thought, Alyssa responded " sure, any more time with the wizard chef you claim is your roommate seems like time well spent in my mind" she told them. Of course, Alyssa was not naive or stupid. She knew there would be grilling involved. Steven had plenty of knowledge about her and her life second hand, but Steven was smart and would want to hear all of it from her. And that was okay with Alyssa, she had no doubt some uncomfortable things would come up. But she genuinely liked Steven and if this was what she needed to do from them to be close, and for him to be comfortable knowing she really was in this for Ryan, and wasnt some crazy psychotic chick who was just messing with his heart. So proving herself over shopping and perhaps some drinks was totally fine in her book. " so when do we leave?" She asked, smiling at the two boys around her.

Steven smiled. He saw Ryan staring at Alyss. He looked so damn fond it made his heart ache. He'd be damned if he didn't wan that. But he wasn't jealous. He was happy that Ryan was finally happy. Finally okay with everything in the past. They'd moved on. And now they could move forward. Steven just hoped Alyss was the one for right now.

Throughout the morning the shopping was pretty laid back. Steven had many different hats and masks. He could play the wingman, straight 'bro', and of course, the fashionista. Which he tried not to act too gay, but he still had a bit of it when he said that the green dress Alyssa held up was sooo not her color. And then he blushed and ran a hand through his hair. Later on as they drifted through one of the stores in downtown Manhattan, flipping through clothes, Steven glanced to Alyssa. "So." He started. "You really did leave your fiancée for my best friend." He pinned her with a stare, his blue eyes not harsh or cold, just curious. "Why? History says Ryan would leave again. Why take the risk?" He asked curiously, thumbing through scarves absently as if the conversation was just as meaningless at the other threads of conversations they had.

Alyssa slipped in one last kids and smiled as she waved goodbye to Ryan and followed Steven out the door. In her head, Alyssa was already preparing for what she knew would be an interrogation. She didn't begrudge Steven that, she was new, a girl that in his eyes had caused Ryan too much pain to be good. So if today was what Steven need to accept her fully, Alyssa was willing to walk straight into the fire. This was the life she wanted now and this was how she was going to get it. The morning started out pretty calmly, no questions just the two of them breezing through stores. It was nice to go shopping, the last time she had gone it had been with her almost mother in law. Now that had been horrifying. They walked into another new store and then five minutes later...bam! The first hit. Alyssa sighed softly trying to take it all in and figure out exactly what to say. Finding the words quickly she responded but continued looking around in the same manner as Steven, she was participating but wasnt about to hand over all of the power. " I did. And it was the best decision, other than meeting Ryan the first time, of my life" she told him, completely sincere. " well first of all, no matter what, he's the guy that's worth the risk to me. And while the first time scared me, hurt me, we actually got a chance to talk. And I get it. He wanted what was best for me and he, stupidly, thought it didn't involve him. But I'm not leaving this time and neither is he. That's all I need. Anything else?' She asked, turning to Steven waiting expectantly. There had to be more.

Steven looked at her. He was startled by the response and blinked at her, eyes wide and extremely blue. They were like Ryan's only, they were paler, and had more of a shallow, icy quality, rather than the depth of Ryan's dark blue ones. He hummed softly in response and looked away. "Ryan is always worth the risk." He murmured softly, almost to himself. He paused, mulling over her question. She seemed genuine. Steven glanced at her, gazing at her not with anger, or suspicion, but with curiosity. "Sorry if this question is more personal, but why didn't you love your fiancée? I mean, why, after so many years, did you pick Ryan over him?" Steven's voice was soft, almost shy for once. "I know Ryan is great, amazing, and to be honest, I'd want him myself, but," He paused to collect himself. "He doesn't have a quote on quote "stable" job, he still has scars, and he lives in an apartment with a, granted awesome, roommate." He glanced back to the scarves, then released the fabric and turned to face Alyssa full on.
