" it's one of the few things I know to be true" Sabrina replied, sighing softly as she spoke. Truth was a funny thing when you spent your life as a hunter. It was the June thing that never changed. It was composed of facts. It didn't care how you felt, it just existed. Outlasted every single human being that it affected. She was stirred from this thought by Zach moving the chair across the floor to sit near her. It almost made her a tiny bit uncomfortable. There was something almost a little soulless about Zach, it seemed. Sabrina didn't let her face show any of this but she was going to be cautious. He had a look in his eyes like a grenade about to explode. Sabrina was smart enough to know she didn't want to get caught in that blast. Granted she was volatile in her own right.
But unlike zach, Sabrina kept that all deep inside. Buried all the hate and anger. Kept herself from feeling it as much as she possibly could. This wasn't a healthy method either but it was how she coped. By refusing to feel, by becoming void. Hearing Zach speak, Sabrina glanced up, stormy gaze meeting the dark fury of his own. The golden haired girl frowned, sadness and empathy playing on her face as she listened, she truly hadn't known about Zach's mother. The night her parents died was the last time she'd returned to their old street. " I'm so sorry Zach, I-I had no idea." She murmured softly, reaching across the table she moved to put her hand in his, an instinctive comforting gesture.
Realizing what she was doing, Sabrina quickly retracted her arm, looking apologetic about over stepping. But soon enough all emotion left her features, leaving her looking removed and distant from the feeling of the situation. At his question Sabrina chuckled, it was hollow and bitter, " no, I'm here about a ghost." She told him " I've been on the hunt for my parents killer since the night they were murdered. But I still do my job. If I can stop other innocent people from dying at the hands of monsters, I figure I'm doing something. My vengeance has to come second. But that doesn't mean I'll stop searching until I flay their killer alive." She explained. The tone of her voice displaying a frightening kind of measured calm and cold nature.
