Military :
There is a large war, and (character1) is injured in the battle while dressed like his enemy. He ends up being picked up by them and stuffed into a infirmary tent. He's badly injured and maybe looses a limb or something. The nurse, (character 2), comes to check up on him but realizes his name and number isn't in any paperwork - so he obviously isn't on their team. Despite that, she heals him and hides the fact that he isn't part of their military by faking numbers and names. They develop a relationship as he is healing, but as soon as he is starting to feel better people start questioning her legitimacy (maybe they think someone else is a spy and they think she has to do with them. So she gets in trouble for someones else) and she gets taken away. So (character1) has to decide if he should run, or try to get her to escape.
Magic:
There is a village out in the woods with a Jarl that watches over it. It's simpler times (like dark ages) with a few farms, shops and a tavern. There are fairies, witches, wizards, and many other races. There is a main wizard of the town (Male Character) that works with the Jarl in preparation for protection against threats from the south. Racism is a large problem, with some races having a lot of power and another race (whichever ones) being the lowest of the low. It's taboo to intermingle even - but the two (Female character) become close and it's a struggle between being accepted and him with his work, her with her work (whichever that may be)
Illness:
The Fault in Our Stars feel maybe? o.o
Or maybe one of them is sick after a normal relationship is established.
