Cassie walked into Biology class trying to forget about the events of earlier in the school day. It had been literally nothing, just a run in with the new kid. There was no reason for her to even still be thinking about it. Cassie had just had some random meaningless encounter in the school cafeteria. So with that in mind, Cassie took her seat at a lab table and ran an absent hand through her curly chocolate locks. Unfortunately her usually partner Charlotte was out sick, with mono. Which wasn't surprising if you had ever met Charlotte. Sighing Cassie looked around boredly as Ms. Dawes started talking about genetics and DNA. This was not the day she was going to be paying attention, Cassie knew everything she wanted about her screwed up family, she didn't need the science behind it as well. But ms Dawes didn't care about that they were paying her to teach...or the very least to try. Cassie wasnt going to try today. There was too much on her mind.

Perhaps it was a universal rule that on the new kid's first day of school, their schedule had to be completely screwed up and require them to visit the guidance office a million times and consequently be late to every class. Ansel had a theory after seeing the grins from the ladies in the office that this was exactly the case. They had signed him up for Earth Environmental, an eighth grade credit class that he had taken long ago. A trip to guidance and now he was placed in AP Biology. Nice. So now the boy roamed the hallways looking for room 327, Ms. Dawes. Thankfully he found it pretty easily, so he wasn't extremely late to class. Still he would have to go through the whole coming in and having everyone stare and making the teacher halt the lesson stuff. Well, he was used to this so no big deal.
The handsome male ran his fingers through his dark curls before he tightened the strap of his bookbag on his shoulder and reached out for the door handle. Then he was walking in the room and into a lesson that appeared to about genetics. The quiet whispering of the students immediately stopped and he felt everyone's eyes on him. The teacher noticed the silence and stopped speaking, turning to see what had drawn their attention. As her eyes settled on him, the boy gave the woman a charming smile. "So sorry I'm late. It's my first day. My name is Ansel Wayfur."

Cassie was starting to worry, what if they were doing something really important today and she was alone? Ms. Dawes sometimes had her erratic moments and you never totally knew what was happening in AP Biology until she told you. Trying not to worry too much, Cassie resigned herself to sitting quietly and just not thinking about any of it....which was easier said then do as the brunette was just starting to discover. Clearing her throat, Cassie look up when she heard ms. Dawes begin to speak, the teacher was mumbling something about electronic microscopy and how it helped advance the stud of genetics, which Cassie might have found interesting if this were any other day.
Suddenly there was a noise at the door and Cassie trained her emerald gaze in that direction, feeling something odd in her chest when the door opened and revealed the same mystery guy from earlier in the cafeteria. Great. Biology just got different. Cassie didn't partake in the whispers that immediately erupted all across the lab, making her the only girl that wasnt talking about how hot the new guy was. Ms. Dawes, being forty something didn't notice and instead smiled from under her glasses at Ansel. " well Ansel, glad you could find us. There's an empty seat next to Cassie, unfortunately her lab partner is out sick with the sniffles. I'm sure she'd appreciate the help" she instructed. Cassie sunk as low as possible in her chair as soon as she heard the plan. This was not okay.

Ansel nodded swiftly at the teacher, his polite smile fading as his grey eyes scanned the room for the empty seat she spoke of. As he looked at each of the standard black desks, which sat two people, he noticed that every student seemed to be staring at him. A particularly pretty blonde caught his eye and he cast her a wink, chuckling as she quickly turned to the girl next to her in a fit of giggles. Oh highschool girls. Finally, he located the empty seat though it almost looked like two empty seats because his new partner had sunk so low in her chair. His eyes flashed and a smirk played at his seductive lips as he recognized the beautiful girl who had run into him during lunch. Perhaps Biology would not be so terrible.
He wove through the seats before reaching his new table and letting his bookbag slide from his shoulder and onto the tile floor. He stood there for a moment, simply looking down at this girl- Cassie. She did not seem so happy to see him, but he would warm her up. The handsome lad quickly settled into his chair, waiting until the teacher continued her lesson before turning his gaze to the girl. "Two times in one day? Must be fate. I'm Ansel."

Cassie sighed quietly seeing that her fate was sealed. Well hey she didn't really have to talk to him and it wasn't like he was bad looking. Yes,that would be her new plan of attack. Look, don't speak unless it's about the lesson, get out of class. Simple, or so it seemed for right now, granted he hadn't even sat down yet...on the way to his seat mystery boy started talking to Heather Sinclair, the rudest and dimmest girl in the entire grade. Lucky for her she was pretty, there wasn't much going on between her ears. Not that Cassie was surprised, guys like him always went after girls like heather. They were easy to deal with, no challenge at all, never independent or intelligent with a body to boot. What else did guys want? Maybe she was a tad jaded....life hadn't always her easy hands, especially when it came to her personal life.
But there was no time to fret, because now Cassie felt those eyes looking at again. There was no good explanation but his gaze felt like a stubborn reckless burn against her skin, which sounded crazy, which she knew. But it was the truth. Then he was suddenly sliding into the chair beside her and Cassie stiffened, purposefully not looking in his direction. " Cassie, I also go by ''Not interested in your lines' who happens not to believe in fate." She replied coolly, emerald gaze staring icily in Ansel's direction, what would he have to say about that ? Hopefully nothing. Not waiting to find out, Cassie started trying to pay attention to ms. Dawes' lecture.

Ansel was watching the girl with an amused light in his grey eyes as she stared straight ahead and fired off those icy words. He continued to look at her, his lips further tipping up at the edges as she glared him down before resuming her attention on the lesson. The male settled far back into his chair and lazily rested on of his toned arms over the top of Cassie's chair. He had already decided that he was going to enjoy messing with the girl. "Oh, that wasn't a line. I don't waste my time with things as cliche as that." Now he glanced over at her and smirked. "But if that's your style, then this is Biology class and the greatest romances have been known to start here." He knocked his knees against hers before turning his gaze to the teacher. "Fate," he whispered.

Cassie had hoped that her cold tone would be enough to make him shut up and leave her alone. She had underestimated his interested in bothering her. Most guys she knew, after being spoken to like that, would call her bitchy and go back to someone like heather Sinclair, where the opportunity to score was much much higher. Feeling his arm come to rest on the top of her chair, Cassie resisted the urge to smack it away, that would only serve as fuel and entertainment for whoever this guy thought he was. When Ansel spoke again Cassie scoffed quietly, trying not to draw ms. Dawes attention. Who the hell did he think he was, seriously? And all he was doing was looking at her at talking like that. It was so damn infuriating, and the worst part was she had no idea why. Clearing her throat Cassie was about to start paying attention again when she felt his leg against hers. It shouldn't have felt good at all because he was being a jerk and trying to play on her emotions for fun. But apparently the rest of her hadnt gotten that memo. Swallowing hard and trying trot to react Cassie simply shifted away, not responding.
tahnkfully a sort time later, the hell rang and Cassie finally had her escape. This and this alone put a smile on the delicate looking brunette's face as she packed up her things and stood by her desk, about to leave class.

So pretty little Cassie didn't like to play games. She amused him with her attitude and huffiness; he was a guy to like a girl with some spunk. Sure he would flirt with sluts and hot chicks, but it was girls like her that actually interested him. Ansel hated a girl that visibly lusted over him to the point that it was borderline sickening. Put you tongue back in your mouth, girls. The handsome lad went the rest of the period deciding not to mess with her, but purposely leaving his arms swung over her chair. Many of the other students stared and he just looked at this with his cool grey eyes. Who were they to him?
As the bell rang, Ansel grabbed his bag and pulled it over his shoulder. He hadn't actually pulled out any materials, so he was ready to go rather quickly. He edged over to the edge of the desk and leaned against the black surface, watching Cassie. "Happy to be getting rid of me?" His tone was playful and light, definitely flirtatious.

Cassie most definitely did not like games. She'd played enough of them the past few years and frankly, Cassie was tired of it. Guys thought they could get away with murder as long as they were hot. It was extremely annoying. Luckily Ansel seemed to understand too leave well enough alone and didn't speak to her or bother her for the rest of the class period. Cassie managed to actually get some work done, her grades were faring better this heart that she was trying to get her stuff together this year. Granted, Cassie couldn't help but notice every now and then that Ansel had left his arm swung around her chair, honestly she didn't know what to make of it. Snapping back to reality, Cassie finished putting the rest of her things into her bag and heard rustling beside her, Ansel putting his stuff away. Clearing her throat Cassie continued ignoring him, there was no point in talking to him now...or maybe ever. Suddenly he started speaking to her again and not wanting to be completely horrible, she attempted to listen a little. " yes, honestly. Because I don't get it. Look what do you want from me anyway, and don't give me a crap answer. If you can't handle that then we just won't talk which is fine by me" Cassie replied firmly, a deadly seriously look in her emerald gaze.
