Devin Devin Devin. He had it out for him today. He was sure of it. He paused by the entrance of the school and ran his long fingers through his hair. He situated his clothing around a little and smoothed the wrinkles out. Devin was a popular guy in some ways and he didn't want to ruin his reputation by coming in with ratty clothes. His sides heaved in a sigh as he pushed his large body through the doors. He paused to glance around, and smiled to himself. He didn't particularly like school, but he liked socializing with his friends.
He made his way over to his locker slowly, vstrides long and purposeful. Some people tried stopping him so they could socialize but he would have none of it. He just pushed them aside as gently as possible and continued on his way. He finally reached it and proceeded to pull the books out of his locker and push the stuff he didn't need back in. He swivel led his body around to face the mingling people and offered a grin. His bright blue eyes searched for someone that seemed to need help. Anyone.

Lila was definitely not ready for today to be here. Sure it was just school and all her transfer stuff had gone off without any sort of hitch. But that wasn't enough, the grades didn't matter not when there were at least a thousand new people watching, judging, and commenting on every one of her actions. Because that's what the first day of being at a new school was. Your new peers graded you and made up their mind. Maybe a few would become your friends but the rest would either hate you or ignore you. If it wasn't obvious the petite raven haired girl wasn't the most popular. The crush of people surrounded her, swallowing her and for a minute disappearing felt good. But then Lila reemerged by the front office and stopped, looking around. Her guide's name was Devin. Lila had spent a few minutes trying to picture a name with that face but came up empty, now she'd just have to wait and see. If he showed. Swallowing hard, Lila started tapping on the edge of her blue plastic binder labeled English as she searched the crowd.

Devin approached the front office, figuring that it would probably be the best idea if he looked for Lila around there. He wasn't quite sure how he would feel about this situation, especially because he didn't know anything about this girl. He ran his large hand through his hair, making it look a little messy and spiky. He approached the front office, finger running along his collar, trying to pull it away from his tanned skin. "Hello." He greeted the raven haired girl smoothly, pausing a foot or two away. "I'm looking for Lila, are you her?" He asked, offering her a reassuring smile.

Lila looked up in time to see a broad shouldered young man approaching her. Looking at him unsurely Lila put a small shy smile on her face as he walked up. Luckily he didn't seem to be all to sure about this situation either. But hey maybe if he wasn't sure and she wasn't then this could be a total disaster. Hearing him speak Lila tilted her head to acknowledge she was listening to him. "Hi" she murmured softly an actual smile coming to her face. "Yeah, that's my name" she agreed "You must be Devin then- unless your just trying to set me up to look like the stupid new girl." she was kidding of course but there was a bite of truth or memory that came with her words.
