{ Le-time skip } Lauren Skyes Lauren had been at the store; it was a very different store with lots of strange spices and lots of people yelling. But it was okay, she wasn't dressed out of the ordinary or wasn't the only white person there. In fact most people around were caucasian, just speaking Arabic which, by the way, Lauren didn't know a lick of besides the few phrases of 'toliet?' and 'where can I find the condoms?'. Her hands had only gotten the essentials they needed; milk, eggs, etc. Now she was checked out (after a long fucking conversation with the store clerk because she knew for a fucking fact those dates were on sale but he refused to listen to her), she began walking back towards their small, new home in Saudi Arabia, where Bastian had been forced to go for his job. She didn't dislike it here, but sometimes she found herself missing America. Like now, for instance. Most people didn't follow you with draping graments over their noses in America.
She moved quicker through the crowd when she noticed this, seeing her house not too far off and thinking she could get home before anything crazy happened. Honestly, she was probably over reacting and this guy was a neighbor she hadn't met or some shit. She was such a typical white girl, anything like that got her panties in a wad. Though, she kind of had the right too considering Andrew.
But that had been so long ago. She needed to focus on just getting home to make sure Drew was doing her homework.
Soon she was only about half a block from their front path when she felt hands gripping her arm roughly and yanking her around. She tried pulling away but the man's other hand wrapped around her face, pulling her back towards what sounded like the engine of a vehicle. Her eyes got wide, dropping her groceries, and she started to try and defend herself. Lauren was still useless when it came to defense, and there was no one around anyways. A scream still passed by her lips when the man's elbow skipped, but it was cut short as he continued to haul her back towards the truck; her feet kicking aimlessly to try and get away.

Bastian Skyes ; ; Bastian was playing with Drew; by that she was doing her own thing in her room and he was sort of going along with it. So long as it didn’t involve pink and frilly dresses like four years ago, he was fine. This time it involved coloring with the now eight years old girl, and Duke (who had doubled in size and gone through training) laying down next to them.
He showed a picture of the Harry Potter coloring book, Professor Umbridge looking like a clown with a horrible sweater and not at all like her movie self. “Like it?” They laughed, but were interrupted by a familiar scream. Bastian looked up towards the window, noticing what was going on.
Living in Saudi Arabia, he had to understand the criminal organizations in the area; mind instantly going into action. Reaching over, he picked up Drew ignoring her protests as he forced her into the closet with Duke. “Stay here and keep safe. Unless it’s me or mommy do not open that door, got me? Cover your ears, sweetie.” Bastian commanded, looking at Duke who was growling and barking at the scream. Pressing a quick kiss to Drew’s forehead he closed the closet.
Before even going outside he paused to pick up his hand weapon; except for periods when he had to prove he could still fire one, Bastian never had reason in all his work years to use it. Banging open the door, looking over at the antagonists he did the first thing that came to mind; aimed and fired at the car. First warning shots, then if they continued as he neared them threateningly, he would shoot them.

Lauren Skyes: Lauren was pushed downwards in a crouch as the guy holding her ducked from the bullet shot into the van. With an angry growl he began to pull Lauren faster and harsher, to the point where the others near the car were ducking to grab her from their buddy and get her into the car.
Another scream came from Lauren, only seeing Bastian briefly and not feeling as panicked, but still freaking the fuck out. "Let me go!" she cried, moving to elbow at the man grasping her arms; anything she could do, really in order to get away. It was definitely feeling like Andrew all over again and her breath was raging through her roughly; the edges of her visions tinted with darkness like she always got when she was panicked.

Bastian Skyes ; ; Gun raising, he very well couldn’t shoot the guy grabbing Lauren. He could miss and hit her, so he settled on the farthest away; shooting him in the shoulder. He has another one, and a second leg, Bastian wouldn’t kill him just yet. His gun turned to the next guy, already hearing sirens and military vans in the distance. He was close now to the door to one van, kicking out his feet to slam the door into one guy trying to get out. Hearing a yell, Bastian was very satisfied with that.
Green eyes glaring, Bastian dared the man holding Lauren to continue; he shouted something in Arabic the gun trained on him.

Lauren Skyes: Lauren was released as the guy backed up, but not after he'd thrown her pretty roughly at the concrete below. She hit the ground hard, slicing open her hand and barely catching herself before her head hit the pavement. The guy slipped into the still open door of the vehicle - which a dead guy was hanging out of btw - and slammed it shut so the driver could get them the hell out of there.

Bastian Skyes ; ; Letting the van get away, putting the gun in its holster Bastian was already rushing to pick up Lauren and half drag and carry her to the house. Two things were running through his mind, make sure she was okay, and get stateside. He sat down Lauren on the couch, running upstairs and opening the closet with, “Drew, go to mommy with Duke.” Flinging clothing in a bag, his ear pressed to a phone as he called for tickets to Virginia under false names. It was all that, green eyes flashing with worry each time he passed someone.

Lauren Skyes: Lauren was a bit shaken up, shivering and rubbing her sore, bleeding hands. She instructed Drew quietly to get her a wet towel and first aid kit from under the sink - the eight year old complying without much of a fuss. Drew had never really been a panicky child, so this wasn't horrifying to her. Maybe it was because bad things seemed to happen to their family all the time. Or maybe it was that she just wasn't that scared of stuff.
She came back to her mother, Duke at her heels, and helped her bandage up her hands. Lauren looked sickly in color so Drew tried doing a funny dance to cheer her up. After Lauren's hands were fixed up, she wrapped her arms around her baby and her eyes followed Bastian worriedly as he paced through the house.

Bastian Skyes ; ; It took half an hour, many trips up and down the stairs, phone calls, the armed guards coming to the door and Bastian slamming it a minute afterwards and the need for coffee later before he was grabbing Duke’s kennel. “We’re going to visit my parents for a few days.” He announced, rubbing his hands and chewing his nails. “Just until this blows over.” He didn’t elaborate on what in front of Drew, merely shooting Lauren an ‘I’ll explain later’ look while picking up the bags.
“Nobody move or go outside, I’ll shove all this in the car.” He was out again, taking another five minutes to pack it up before he was on the phone again speaking Arabic slowly; shooting in some French and English as he tried to explain something.
When he was done, Bastian’s green eyes met blue ones. Finally settling down, “You okay Lauren?” He had made sure there was no external and hospital-needed-immediately damage. Right now it was the minor scratches and emotional trauma.

Lauren Skyes: Lauren just nodded, though her eyes were still wide and her gaze flicked around them like something was going to pop out - or someone. "I-I'm fine," she didn't know if this was a lie or not, actually, but she'd told herself she'd never have one of her mental break downs in front of Drew. Thinking of visiting Bastian's parents calmed her down a bit more, though Drew could feel her heartbeat pounding awfully fast against her skin.
"Grandma and Grandpa Skyes?" she grinned, moving away from her mother and dashing towards her room to go pack her things, Duke right on her heels. When her door was closed somewhat behind her, Lauren brought her legs up to her chest.
"That was...horrifying," she tried to find the word, burying her chin in her knee caps.

Bastian Skyes ; ; “It’ll be fine, I talked to the commander on base…Commander Mabley I had to and he’s looking into it.” Bastian assured, looking at Lauren quietly. His green eyes flicked to the door and towards where Drew disappeared to worriedly like leaving her alone was bad.
Sighing though, “if you want me to quit or stay in the U.S. I understand.” Bastian said, reaching out to touch her soothingly smiling lightly.

Lauren Skyes Lauren grabbed his hand, looking sincere but her fingers shook. "Under any other circumstances, I would never ever suggest you quit. But...it's putting us all in danger, Bastian," her blue eyes were filled with sadness; she didn't want him to leave his dream job because of her and Drew, but she was also scared. Scared that what if Bastian hadn't been there? What if Drew was next? Who knew what these people were capable of.

Bastian Skyes ; ; Nodding, “I’ll see what I can do. Close to home, United States, non-terrorist inhabited countries.” Bastian smiled, squeezing her hand. He turned towards where Drew disappeared, yelling, “Drew, Duke! Come on, the plane leaves in half an hour!” He yelled, opening the kennel and motioning the dog inside, leading his family into the car.

After Saudi Arabia, the Skyes family did a few more years overseas until it was time to settle down and let Drew have a life. Two of those years were in Germany, one in Italy, and finally before highschool was France; nothing exciting but the wonders of Europe at their fingertips of vacations. Oh, they went countless places together as Drew grew up, Africa, England, Chile; it was all fun and business.
Finally time to give their daughter, and son James (whom is nine years younger than Drew Skyes), a life without much excitement and to live life near where Bastian and Lauren grew up. They settled into a new, fresh bought house a town away from Papa and Nona Skyes. But right outside Arlington, Virginia.
Bastian would still work for the government to this day. He and Lauren would live their lives at peace with a few incidents here and there; but where their story started to settle down…Drew Skyes story begins.
{ THE FUCKING END -OF THIS LOVERS TALE- }

Lauren Skyes: About two weeks into dating Bastian, it was the night of their junior prom. He hadn't formally asked her yet, and she didn't expect him to, but she kind of assumed they were going to the dance anyways. He'd dropped hints of 'get a dress, babe' and 'make sure you look hot on the 12th' and crap like that, so she had. Lauren and her mother had been shopping most days after school for a week (only the best for Lauren Skyes, popular bitch) and had finally found the perfect, and most expensive dress out there. It was made from chiffon, light blue colored, and lined with sparkling Swarovski crystals along the breast area and down in a V towards her core. The back was made up of a corset and matching ribbon that slipped down the trail of the skirt a pretty great length.
Lauren naturally had a hot bod, so the corset only enhanced that. On the day of Prom, a Saturday, Lauren attended a hair appointment where her hair was professionally curled onto her shoulders and make-up was put on in a dark hue of black and blue. She was striking even just walking home done up from the neck and above, but was even more stunning after her mother helped her into her dress and tightened up the corset real tight.
Now Lauren stood in front of the mirror, her mother slipping a matching sparkling necklace over her smooth collarbones, tightening it and then handing Lauren the earrings. Lauren knew she was hot, and she did look that way, but as she stared at her reflection, popping in the earrings to add more sparkle, she was actually considering herself to be gorgeous, which she didn't think of very often. Of course, the only person she actually wanted to hear those words from was from Bastian, who she believed whole heartedly whenever he said something. She'd started to like him, really like him, and that was dangerous. But maybe good dangerous. At least, she hoped.
Miranda slid her hands over Lauren's arms a bit, marveling at her work in the mirror just like Lauren was doing now that she was finished. "You look stunning."
Lauren smiled slightly, brushing her acrylic nails over the fabric of the dress lightly, loving the soft feel it gave off. She hoped this prom was a good one. It was her first, the prom she was so stoked to go to all of high school and it was finally happening. And with the best guy she'd met so far in her life, who would be at their house any minute.
Speaking of that, there was a call from the past the open door of Lauren's bedroom. "Lauren! Miranda! He's here!"
Lauren let out a nervous breath, feeling her mom squeeze her shoulders a bit as she dashed off to go get her camera.
